Strategic
Change Management - Municipal Team
Using
a business simulation in change, focussed the effort of twenty-five senior
municipal executives. Taught them the principles of managed change
and facilitated the identification of key issues facing the team. Worked with each team to develop action plans to address key issues.
Strategic
Planning
Worked
closely with a group of social agencies to develop an action plan for
rebuilding cooperation and joint action. Using the concept of Future
Search, a high-involvement and fast-paced planning process, worked with
twenty-four participants to identify the things they valued about the
past and present trends in the social service field. Following this
activity, facilitated a large group meeting to plan a clear, action-oriented
future for collaboration and mutual support amongst participating agencies.
Participants were quick to praise the process for uniting a very disparate
group in a very powerful two-day workshop.
360°
Feedback - Top-Ten Legal Firm
Conducted
a 360°
feedback process for volunteer partners on how they "lived"
the firm's values. Positive results reinforced the value of providing
feedback to members of a professional firm.
Human
Resources Audit
Developed
and implemented an audit of all the human resources practices and policies
of a 350-person packaging company. Interviewed all senior management,
surveyed all HR policies and practices to determine compliance with human
rights legislation and evaluation against ‘best practices’
in people management
techniques. The result was a report with a recommended strategy
for improvement.
Performance
Management
Developed
and implemented a performance planning and coaching system for administrative
and executive groups in a private U.S college. Participants included
all non-faculty groups such as Athletics, Administration, and Development
departments. Using participative management techniques, enrolled
all administrative staff, including support and even security staff, in
developing personal performance contracts.
Cultural
Transformation – Professional Firm
Worked
closely with senior management to transform the engineering department
of a provincial energy commission into a stand-alone professional firm.
Taught consulting skills, value billing, strategy and execution to over
one hundred scientists, engineers and technicians in a major effort to
create value for a consortium of minority shareholders. Result was that
the minority shareholders increased their ownership to fifty-one percent.
Currently pursuing a successful engineering consulting path.
