A Change Management Program using ExperienceChange™

Many organizations use project teams to implement strategic change. Such teams must be highly knowledgeable about developing and implementing change strategies. They also need training and development on how to function effectively as a team. "Quick-Start" is designed specifically for project teams of this nature.

Program Focus

The focus of this program is to provide training in managing and implementing change in an organization. It is also a program for team development.
The goals for most change efforts are usually related to changing the culture of the organization, implementing some kind of technical or business change or business improvement.
An effective communication strategy is also essential to creating a successful outcome for the change effort.

The Value Proposition

The value proposition of this program for the organization is:

• Learning Focus: The project team will quickly learn how to develop a successful change management strategy. They will, after a very brief period, all speak the same ‘language’ of change and this will improve communication around the project significantly.

• Outcomes Focus: The project team and its sub-teams will develop specific change plans and implementation strategies for the total organization and for each of their own projects.

• Team Development: The Team/Teams will develop themselves, increasing their ability to communicate in an open, accurate and timely manner. Team decision-making will improve as the teams learn the importance of reaching consensus in a time-sensitive environment. In addition to their project management skills, they will have developed significant ‘process’ skills such as facilitation, effective use of feedback and the need to exercise strong leadership skills.

• Shared Experience—Same Page: Each team would also benefit from information and change strategy sharing with working on other, similar challenges. This will lead to a solidly cross-linked change strategy, taking into consideration the relationship between and among the team challenges.

• Learn and Achieve in a Low Threat, High Impact Environment :The three-day program is anchored by "ExperienceChange", an intensive computer and internet-based, multi-media simulation in change management analysis, planning and implementation. Teams work separately in this powerful simulation and compete with other teams for scores on change management strategy and cost-benefit effectiveness. The simulation workshop is preceded by a day of planning combined with team development. It is followed by a day of team development and implementation strategy.

A key aspect of this program is that all team development exercises would be tailored for the specific change management situations of the organization. By going through this program, each organization team will get ‘up to speed’ on their project much faster and leave the program with specific ‘deliverables’ for implementation in their home organization. An outline for the program schedule is attached.

Customization

Each program for managing change is completely customized to the needs of the sponsoring organization. Successful workshops have been conducted for consolidation projects, mergers, new service offerings, strategic planning and restructurings.

Outcomes

Participants report that their projects have gone very well as a result of the workshop. They report faster and smoother implementation with less resistance.
