DBM Presents:

Planning for a Successful Retirement – or Not ! !

Everything you need to know to prepare your employees and your organization for the changing paradigms of retirement planning TODAY!

Did you know...

In Canada alone, more than 1,000 people retire everyday! People are living longer and in the last 90 years, longevity in western culture has increased by 30 years. Retirees can expect to live this new lifestyle longer than any other stage or phase of life. HRDC has estimated that, by 2011, approximately 41% of the working population will be between the ages of 45 and 64, compared to only 29% in 1991, and by 2000, 43% of people retired before the age of 60.

Successful Retirement

The decision as to whether or not to retire requires a level of personal career/life planning unfamiliar to most people. To achieve retirement fulfillment, retirees will need to look into themselves with a keen introspection that allows them to honestly assess their current situation and their needs and desires for the future. They will also need to answer the question… “do I want to retire or continue to work?”

Offering retirement planning encourages career development through resume preparation and interviewing skills for a post-retirement lifestyle such as doing volunteer work, part-time or consulting work – or staying on where they are.
Actively supporting successful retirement planning today helps solidify relationships with your employees, perhaps of those employees whose services you may need during their retirement.
Creating goodwill with mature workers by demonstrating how well you provide for colleagues facing similar issues positions your company as a lifestyle and career development partner.
Our results show that after attending the Retirement Success workshops, participants realized the importance of having purpose as opposed to idle time in their lives and decided they wanted to continue working on a part-time or contract basis.
